So that’s the first round ties done and dusted – all eyes are now firmly fixed on the second round draw where teams are now just five hours of fishing away from a place in their regional semi-final!

Reigning champs Hemsworth Angling are still battling away in the northern section and their first round win has been rewarded with a home tie against Woodland Tackle, while last year’s finalists Finedon find themselves at home in the against Daventry.

Heading south, three of last year’s 15 teams fishing at the Tunnel Barn final are still going strong, Guildford Angling and Kennet Ospreys both landing a home draw against Dorking AS and Orchard Lakes, leaving Welsh side Cwmbran Angling to make the trip across the Severn Bridge to do battle with Clevedon and Chippenham.

All ties are to be fished Sunday, May 8, and owing to numbers taking part this year, teams in the North and South will have fewer going through to their semi-finals at Gold Valley and Woodland Lakes, the Midlands sending forward the full 15 teams to Larford Lakes in June.
