Not been for last 2 years (got married and had a baby!) but had x4 consecutive years before that. Wonderful place, surroundings, accomodation and of course the fishing. We used to go every June which can be a tricky fishing month due to the spawning, never the less always had good catches especially with the Tench. Best day I had there was 33 Tench between 3-6lb and a 17.5lb carp! Paste works really well but make it fairly stiff otherwise the Roach nibble it away in seconds. If you do go say hello to Paul from me and tell him I will be back!

RE: Lonsdale Park Lakes

i was there in both june for two weeks and agian in oct for a week the fishing was great in june even with the spawning going on my boyfriend had a PB of 29lb common out of reed and our friends had a PB of 17lb Pike in oct the fishing was slower as you would expect but still we caught a 17lb Ghost on lonsdale and a 22lb common i think you must not have had a good week and Carp fishing is for the most patient of anglers and not for the catch them quick and how many you can get. and both Paul and Val are the nicest of people and hospitality is unquestionable as they are the most helpful and kindest people you could meet. i think you must of been in the wrong venue as you have given a totally inaccurate account of the whole venue the accommodation is warm and welcoming the pegs are secluded and tidy and clean and we have only been going in the last two years and we will be going again next yaer we have already booked the place is peaceful and picture perfect

RE: Lonsdale Park Lakes

I went to this place recently for a week and based on the other review boy things have changed! The customer service is truley the worst I have ever known - We seemed to be getting in the way of the owner rather than being valued customers, the accom was tatty and cramped and the fishing was not upto much - I don't doubt that there are big fish in the lakes but I think most of the big ones are now in the 'By invertation ' lake that the owner is keeping for 'people he trust!' The swimms are weedy and the whole place has a whiff of a run down holiday camp and not a Premier fishing venue portrayed in the venue Web site. I don't doubt there are plenty of people who have had great times at this venue - but not in the last couple of years. I think the owner/ Manager should spend less time playing with his rally cars and more looking after his guest or maybe on a customer care course.
