Three lakes providing free fishing for residents staying in any of our six self-catering holiday cottages. No day tickets are allowed so the fishing is relaxed and unpressured.
The fishing is superb with carp up to 25lb, roach 1lb-plus, perch at 4lb 8oz, bream at 5lb, tench at 2lb-plus.
Seventy percent of South Reed holidaymakers are return visitors. The cottages are all conversions from original farm buildings, the farmhouse itself is 15th century providing a superb backdrop for a real Devon feel with great views of Dartmoor.
Enhancing that farm holiday feel the farm has chickens, ducks, horses, ponies, donkeys, sheep and other farm animals from time to time. We also have falconry available on site where you can learn to fly a bird of prey and take your own hawk out accompanied by a Falconer - the rates for hawk experiences are heavily discounted for South Reed Farm Residents.
Dogs are allowed in some of the cottages, day kennel facilities are available if you wish to go out for the day and leave the dog behind. There are lots of nice pubs and restaurants in the local area, lovely walks being so close to Dartmoor and only 25 minutes to the nearest beach!
Once a week weather permitting everyone gets together for a great BBQ evening where you can swap fishing stories and more importantly have a great time.
