Venue information

NOT only is the Fennes Fishery a beautiful, well-designed and tranquil place to fish, it is also simply brimming with every species of fish.

The three lakes are sizeable enough to cope with lots of anglers, and each pool is absolutely stuffed with fish. Ash Ground has some top carp and Hobbs Croft is a superb action water, flush with carp in the 8lb-10lb category. Hill and Tan provides the match lads with non-stop action.

The on-site facilities are pretty standard. A smart little tackle shop is chock-full of terminal tackle and there’s a refreshment stand in the summer. The toilets were clean, with hot water on tap and plenty of paper towels.

Access is excellent with flat, even banks around Ash Grounds, although Hobbs Croft is a little harder to go around with its higher banks, and Hill and Tan is surrounded by a high embankment.

Fennes is indeed a very good, prolific and unique fishery that’s definitely worth a visit.

Main Species
