Venue information
Bartles Lodge is a beautiful holiday spot in the heart of the Norfolk countryside perfect for fishing, relaxing, and exploring our lovely county.
You’ll find Bartles Lodge in the tiny, sleepy village of Elsing, just a few miles from the busy market town of Dereham. The Lodge provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in our newly converted stables, surrounded by 11 acres of beautiful grounds. What's more for those with caravans we have a C L Touring Caravan site.
Bartles Lodge has three wonderful lakes - Victoria, Laura and Lizzie – each approximately an acre in size. They are spring fed with depths ranging from 2 to 8 feet. All are well stocked with both Mirror and Common carp (up to 20lb) tench, bream, perch, rudd and roach. Some baits are available on site as are fridges so residents can bring their own bait if they wish. There is a toilet block situated in the main building.
Victoria's Lake
Victoria’s lake was created in 2006 and is our match/pleasure lake. It is approximately an acre in size and has depth between 6-7 feet and contains carp(mirror and common) to 5lb, tench, bream, perch and roach. There are 14 purpose built swims with parking beside the lake.
Victoria’s lake is available for hire as a match lake or on a limited day ticket. Residents have full use of this lake when no matches are taking place. Open matches are organised for residents who enjoy a little light competition.
Lizzy's lake
Lizzy’s Lake is a very old established lake and is approximately three quarters of and acre in size. Its depth is between 2-3foot which makes capture of carp (up to 12lbs) an exciting and explosive event. Other fish include tench, bream, perch and roach but the hard fighting carp are the main prize to be had here!
Lizzie's Lake can be fished with a float or ledger and the best baits are bread, maggot, luncheon meat and sweet corn.
Laura's lake
Laura’s lake is a more mature lake and was created 15 year’s ago. It is also approximately an acre in Size with depths from 3-5 feet. It contains carp (common and mirror) to 20lb as well as tench, bream perch and roach.
Laura's lake can be fished with a float or ledger and the best baits to use are bread, maggot, sweet corn and meat but most baits are worth a try.
