I have recently acquired a Maver 5m margin power carp whip and I have absolutely no idea how to set up and use it. Can anyone help?
First of all you will need to elasticate the top section of this short pole, and to see how this is done watch the video by clicking here.
You then need to attach a suitable pole rig on to the connector and use it by gently lowering it into your swim. Find the depth by attaching a plummet and lowering it in the margins of the lake to find the depth, then slide the float down or up the line until it marks the exact depth of the area you want to fish.
Now feed the swim as you would when floatfishing, and lower your rig directly over the top of the loosefeed.
Strike by lifting the pole upwards quite sharply, and then play the hooked fish by letting the elastic do all the hard work - all you need to do is steer the fish away from any snags and keep the fish under control. There is no need to harshly pull the fish around.
And then, to net the fish, you will need to pass the pole back and break it down to a more manageable length so the pole tip section can be pointed skywards, then you will be able to scoop the fish up with your landing net.
