I use Cortland floating peach AFTM 7/8 fly fishing line on a Greys 10ft 7/8 fly rod. My line keeps kinking. Have you any tips to cast without this happening? I have only been fly fishing for about 6 months.

Is it coiling up on the surface like a spring? This can either be because the line is twisted when its been put on the reel or its to cold for the line to lie flat on the surface. First one is easy, get a friend to pull all your fly line off the reel over a grassy field. When they let go reel it back in and most of the kinking will fall out. You may need to repeat this a few times for better results or better still go out in boat and let it drift behind the boat at full extent with out any flies on. If it still kinks up then it may only lie flat when the weather is very warm. I bought a cortland shooting head fly line for sea fishing in the tropics which is fine but in this country its like a snake on the surface

try to cast alot more smoothly instead in large thrust to get distance on your cast, because this will let your line fly free... worth a try trust me... see what happens.... JOSH !!!
