It isn’t just traditional predatory species that will eat a livebait, as Mark Barratt found last week when he landed this huge 37lb 15oz carp on a small rudd offering intended for catfish. The 36-year-old, from Wilburton in Cambs, was filming a new series of the satellite TV series Predators when his bite alarm signalled a vicious take. Mark initially ...

The delux is the same size as the standard but made from a harder insulated material which keeps the bait cooler (internal ice block pockets are fitted). The zip down plastic cover keeps spillage to a minimum and an inner mesh cover prevents the bait from jumping out when the outer lid is open. Battery powered pump included. (Batteries not ...

So tomorrow... I'm faced with a quandary. I'm going pike fishing with a mate to a very good water - my mate's last three fish have been over 20lb. The mighty fish, which falls just 1lb 3oz short of the British record, was taken by Martin Jauncey from the River Severn during a day afloat with fellow predator enthusiast Chris Fowles. It fell to a trotted roach livebait and came on Martin’s ...

Deadbaits wouldn’t be many anglers’ first-choice bait for a big perch, but a lifeless small roach proved irresistible to this impressive Trent stripey weighing 4lb 1oz. The Trent predator was tempted by specimen angler Bryan Culley after experiencing a number of fast, aborted runs while targeting the middle river’s pike population. A switch to lighter tackle resulted in an immediate ...

A seven-year quest for a pike over the magical 20lb barrier ended in success for fanatical angler Jon Perkins when he netted this 26lb 6oz fish from the Hampshire Avon. The New Milton, Hants-based angler eased into his session on the famous Royalty Fishery by landing three double-figure pike, before his last take of the day produced his biggest ever ...

A livebait freelined in gin-clear water accounted for this stunning 33lb pike caught by German predator fanatic Christian Paschmann from an undisclosed lake in his homeland. It is the second thirty the Pro Logic consultant has taken over the past month, having landed a fish of just over 34lb from a Danish stillwater on a trolled lure two weeks before. ...
