Why apple is better than anything else

Jack I would be interested in your views on this - I just got hold of a second hand Mac Pro and Installed windows 7 on it, there is an experience indicator on windows 7 machines to tell you how fast the hardware is and this machine scores 7.7 , faster than my works laptop , apart from the solid state drive , not bad but even better when you consider that this machine is 5 years old. Open it up and its built like a Rolls Royce.

My mate had one and was still using it , ...

The lets choose Benny a new reel thread

Ok this should be in tackle but bear with me.

I don't believe in spending a great deal of money on tackle , I don't fish often enough for a start , and I think you quickly get diminsihing returns in terms of value when buying tackle.

So my budget is £50 quid. I mainly feeder fish but also do some waggling in the margins  ( ooer Missis ).

This is my current reel ( cost circa £10 )

Some good news to please everyone

I have had a message today from Abborra and Ronnie. They had a death in the family and had to return to the UK for the funeral. The stress of this and the travelling made them both very ill, but they are both on the mend know. They send their best to everyone and hope to be posting soon once they have sorted themselves out.

Great New Posts

I see that there are a number of new posts about cheap kitchens and kitchen design. Personally I am no more interested in kitchens at the moment than match fishing, but these posts seem as worthy as some of the threads we have had running recently.

Seriously, I see one post on work parties, that I unfortunately missed, was locked and the thread on new threads was deleted. These seem to have been the two best threads in the last month - what does this say about our forum? Jack has done his best to revive the forum but ...

What happened to "God Was an Astranaut."

Remember those books by , was it "Van Daniken" in the sixties and seventies. He proposed that aliens had landed on earth and genitically modified an ape into a human and then legged it back to wherever they came from and left us to it. . I believe he was later discredited for producing "genitically modified pictures". But, we have mastered the technology of genitically modifying life since then and we are discovering quite a few "goldilocks planets. How far off are we from landing on another planet and finding primitive unintelligent life and would we be tempted to carry ...

Coarse

Boiled Potatoes

Following on from Gregs post on dried blood. It is often mentioned in old books on angling and I do not think many anglers use it now. It will be intersting to see how you get on with it Greg. It made me think of potatoes ; also often mentioned in old books for carp. I buy a small tin of potatoes from Morrisons occasionally as a back up; not really that nice but handy on occasions. It  made me think they are ready made perfect for a bait as I believe they are part cooked "par boiled". Only 19p ...
