Hi all can anyone help.....i caucht a very small fish a few days ago on the
river dearne NR barnsley,i have never seen a fish like it before...it had a jet
black stripe from head to tail going half way down its body,the lower half
was silver...any ideas,sean.

Depending on what size it was it sounds like a minnow.

Without a picture it's very hard to say but with the iformation you've supplied I think columbus24 could be right and it could have been a minnow.

I always use the right bait and tactics, but sometimes the fish just don't agree!
