Chapel St Leonards

A mate of mine has just had a great session fishing off the beach near Chapel St Leonards. He's been having his rod almost ripped in by plenty of dogfish plus he had two bass. not massive ones though but big enough to eat.

He promised to kit me out so I can catch a proper fish as he put it.

Nice one cant wait for that

Re: Chapel St Leonards

thats very good going, ive went there twice last year, and got a few plaice, and one bass just big enough to eat. also a silver eel it looked about 4-5lb but i couldnt weigh it and i dont no how to cook eels. and the wierdest thing that ever happened to me whilst fishing happened there. i was sat beside my rod and it twitched and i thought it was a plaice and it went a little more so i started reeling it in and it felt like a small fish and then half way in, my rod bent double and i mean double. and i was thinking what the.... and it started stripping line of the reel and i felt like gettig pulled across the beach and i looked at my dad and he was looked confused and took the rod off me and then i saw in the distance a seal jumped out and then as it hit water again snapppp. it bit threw my 60 shockleader that really made my heart race.

this year biggest carp 18lb common and biggest pike 18lb

Great story that mate.

They breed just north of Chapel St Leonards at Donna Nook.

A good mate of mine has been bitten off a good few times by seals while out codding there.
