Rhodes, Middleton

Has anyone fished the Perch pond on Rhodes Lodges recently ?. I might be trying it out tomorrow, but with all the sewer pollution it had last year and the poachers i might just stick to Myrtle road lodges

Hello mate,

I live jsut around thye corner from rohdes in middleton, and if i ever go on there the only thing i fish for is the pike, I dont really rate it and it can be abit rough at times, Certainly gotta be alert if your fishing the back lake, For perch youd be better off a pilsowrth fisheries, but the specimen lake as i had a 3lb 8oz perch from the dam wall on a little sprat.

Good luck.

Pilswoth, about the fourth peg on the wall side from the car park there is a sunken boat, thats where some decent perch hang out.

I heard that Middleton anglers had given up the lease on Rhodes because of excessive poaching, this may be rumor but it was a club member who told me.

I don't think that is true but all the land behind Pilly has been land filled. The company that applied for permission to do the land fill, put in the application that the land would be used to set up a fishery and equestrian center, whether this happens remains to be seen.

Pilsworth

Its turned out to be a rumour about pilsworth shaun, Its business as usual and fishing its head off at the moment !  i took a friend on there last week to introduce him to fishing, he was having a bite a chuck and ended up spending over £100 pound on fishing tackle when he got home lol.  I was on Rhodes perch pond again the other day as well. This time i opted for ledgered worm on a scaled down helicopter rig, under the overhanging trees.... caught nothing again ffs. Hopefully a decent fishing club might take Rhodes over now Middleton Anglers have lost it (Finally)

Eric has re-stocked it... put 3,000 sml carp in match pond i think. It was Queens park i asked you about, I went for a look round it the other week and seen loads of bream and a large ghostie cruising about. Only a shallow pond though, would need to fly fish it i reckon

I recommend early morning's or a rainy day when other park users are at a minimum, I like to go down there with minimal tackle, for silver fish on a light waggler set up.

Its not a bad place to say its free to fish.
