Hello everyone, Like every other fishermans dream i would like to be sponsored as jsut recently i give up football which was very succsesful so i could do more fishing, Im Carp mad, but i can also use the pole and rod. My PB is 23lb Carp & 30lb Catfish, Id love sponsorship so im jsut wondering how should i go about it? do i contact anyone or what?

If football was very sucessful i think i might have stuck with that as  it pays more and when football is finished there will still be plenty of time for fishing if there is any doubt about this ask jimmy bullard as per anglers mail article a few weeks back. As per your question i havent got a clue how to get sponsored but with my fishing ability i have no need to worry lol

What I mean is what is in it for me or any other potential sponsor. I dont know if you realise it but sponsorship is a two way deal there needs to be something in it for the sponsor.

The rub here is:-

Are you regularly in the press? (and i dont mean those pics in the back of AT)

Are you regularly on the telly?

Do you have your own TV series?

Can you supply a portfolio of carp from 30 to 50lb, catfish to 50lb, and the methods and rigs used?

Can you invent (and prove they work) new baits and rigs?

Can you invent (and prove it works) new tackle items?

AND

Are you articulate, approachable, and friendly to other people.

 

keep fishing simple and you will catch alot more

The fastest route to sponsership is to win matches (lots of them) ,and to catch specimen fish regularly.

Get so good at catching that your name is mentioned in all the right places ,and you get free invites to big matches etc.

Failing all that ,change your name to John Wilson ,or Matt Hayes ,or Danny Fairbrass ,or , the list goes on and on.

Bait ,The final frontier.

hmm,  Alot harder than i imagined, ive had over 27 20s in 2 years, 14 catffish of which was all 20+.

Ive enterd 4 carp matches winning 2 and came fourth & Ninth in the others.

Im only 13 so i still got plenty of time yet;).

gd for you pal but at the end of the day unless you can do the things listed above u aint getting sponsored, and although thats an impressive amount of quality carp caught, if you fish the right ponds full of carp like that then it kinda becomes easy for every one.

keep fishing and keep challenging your self and i rekon you will develop new rigs and mehods thus possibly creating some attention for yourself if you kepp some kind of blog with pictures of your quality fish
