Re: Where are all the new Jobs then ?

we keep hearing that the labour govt is to blame for the banking crisis think back to maggies govt describing the working class as mondeo man and that mondeo man should buy his council house and if the banks would only led him enough money to buy his car then the councils would have to make loans available for him to buy his house the banks didnt like that and started to make cheaper loans and mortgages available the borrowing culture didnt come about during the last govt it started long before blair and brown

i wish i could be sensible but i cant help supporting sheffield wednesday up the owls

If David Cameron has a Plan B would he announce it? If he did it wouldn't give much confidence in his plan A would it? Imagine if Churchill had made his speech that went something like "We shalll fight them on the beaches, we shall fight them on the landing grounds, we shall fight them in the fields and the streets  ..etc" and then said "If that doesn't work what we could try next is ......"

It just doesn't make sense to announce your plan B does it?

Err david, there is absolutely no confidence in plan A.  Not even from his own party.  You basically have Cameron and Osborne (the man's name is GIDEON!!! Says it all) being a pair of fat-headed idiots, clinging blindly to the devastation they are causing and refusing to see the blindingly obvious.  Nobody knows what has happened to Nick Clegg (who?) and nobody, not even their own party members agree with them.  They need to accept they went about it all wrong and think of a longer term plan which will not be so drastic.

Lets face it, what they are doing is all geared towards the nasty party being able to throw us a few scraps just in time for the next election.

Jack, you will never convince any bloke from around here that the Labour government was a bad thing.  Life improved immeasurably for all of us under Labour and now it's already getting worse.  It was all down to the greed of the bankers.  If Labour would have stopped them from making money, you would have slated them for it.  You must be a millionare yourself to support the ConDems, they are the ONLY people not suffering.

------ End Quote ------

So then Aintree my old mucker.....Labour's demise and  seemingly inadequacy to run the country was all down to the greedy bankers eh?....doesn't matter that just about everybody was sick to the back teeth with their "leadership" long before the banks brought the world to it's knees.....and the ensuing election a few years later proved it.......it really is that simple mate.

As far as me being a millionaire is totally irrelevant......I am...or was ....a staunch lifelong Labour supporter before their last pathetic attempt to run this country......and I came to the conclusion that it was time to let someone else have their opportunity because it was crystal clear to me ( and millions more apparently) that neither Mr Blair nor Mr Brown was capable of doing it. At the time I was ashamed to admit that I thought Tony Blair was THE worst PM this country has ever had.....and I KNOW how bad Maggie Thatcher was.....The guy was totally gutless....he was a complete embarassment to all Labour supporters.

You are not really old enough to know the difference between the two parties' capabilities of running a country YET Aintree.........Despite the fact that you have lived through both parties running the country.....I would imagine that the only Government you can remember with any clarity would be the last Labour one....so you haven't got a lot to compare them with really, have you mate?

Why not give them a chance and see what they can do.....THEN you would qualify for an opinion of them and their methods of running the country.....you cannot possibly have already reached a concluson on the Tories ability to run the country...in just a few months.....

......can you????

I see the outgoing leader of the CBI uses his leaving speech as an oppurtunity to slam Cameron's lack of a plan B www.guardian.co.uk/business/2011/jan/24/cbi-chief-slams-government-growth-strategy got to be something when even the CBI are starting to panic !

Jack the question was as always a starting point for a debate, maybe I should have called it does Cameron have a plan B ? He seems to be hanging on like grim death to an ideology that is going to decimate the country , sound familiar ? Even the tories themselves are starting to panic , see above thread - theres no better representative of the tories for me than the head of the CBI and even he is having a pop !

Too late mate.......somebody has beaten them to it......

Jack what is your opinion of the head of the CBI critisicing the current government ? If its not a silly question.

last try and then I'm out

Of course the conclusion is that if there is no God head , no guiding hand , no mystical force , then we are all automata clinging to a rock , whizzing through space ,hurtling and clinging on to some God forsaken ride, chemical accidents , accidentally chemically aware , peeking at conciousness , trapped like rats in a rat trap.

They are a lobbying organisation......they lobby about everyone and everything....

You might want to check out what they had to say about Labour a couple of years in to their stint about 8 or 9 years ago.....

They are always complaining about Government's policies....they wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't....that's why nobody takes any notice of what they say..

.......except desperate Labour supporters , of course.......

....now, I'm out.

I've just told you mate....nobody takes any notice of what they say ....whoever says it......ESPECIALLY THE HEAD.......

So I would have thought that because I have already told you that in my last post...you would have come to a reasonably simple conclusion that I don't believe a word any of 'em says.....they are simply justifying their existence.

Re: Where are all the new Jobs then ?

Jack, I was old enough to see the devastation caused by the tory party.  Just because I couldn't vote doesn't mean I couldn't see it.  The cuts are too deep and not really necessary, within a few months I can see friends and family losing jobs, I can see the direct consequesnce of the cuts already and I can see the tories pandering to the fat cats (fat cat bankers apparently being responsible for 50% of donations recieved by the party, coincidence?)  "Big Society" is a f*cking joke.  I have made my judgement on this government, I didn't expect that to be possible so soon and believe it or not I was willing to give them a chance.  What they are doing is brutal, too much, too fast and they can't see it because they are all far too overpriveledged from the day they were born.

David, I don't really see why you are trying to slap ME down by criticising the council of the city I just happen to live in?  I hate Liverpool City Council, their war on the motorist is sickening, I hate the way they went around cleaning up graffiti and making repairs just before the capital of culture judges came to town.  They only did this along the route the judges would be taken on though!  Nevermind all those people paying council tax, just clean up a bit for the judges of a pretty meaningless award.  I agree with you about our council being cr*p but at least my bins are emptied every week and at least the council leaders make themselves available even to a nobody like me.  They have their good points and they have their bad points, I strongly dislike them overall BUT I know other people in the country have got it much, much worse.  Manchester for example (it's not what you think, I know the city very well because my partner's family live there).

I am the one who knocks.

Oh, just a p.s. to jack.  It was all that fashionable outrage over the Iraq war that cost Blair.  Before that he was very popular.  Even I am old enough to remember that.  He got voted back in enough bloody times!

I am the one who knocks.
