It is my 65th birthday soon and Sue asked me if there was anything I needed so I said I would like a pair of new drop off alarms a couple of friends use the billy backbiter alarms and are very happy with them. There is a conversion for them which is called a rollover marketed by another company and I wondered if anyone on the forum had used this coversion on a backbiter  if you have please give me your opinion of the rollover I have seen the promo vidio but I would like some user opinion.

i dont know anyone who uses the  rollover,but anything to do with billys backbites will be quality,my mate uses the backbiters and he says they are faultless give excellent indication and after seeing them myself in action im after some now.

 I spoke to the fella who makes them and he said he makes them to order inseveral different colours but I ordered the black models if I had coloured the boys would never live it down they would take the mick and call me a old hippy piker or something like that should have them in a couple of weeks thanks very much Norfolk.

my mate has the blue nose backbiters that are actually encased in see through plastic and the whole alarm lights up.in fact im going to order some now!

Greg thanks for bringing these to my attention. Have been looking for a new drop off alarm and was thinking of the Fox one but they have stopped doing all but the expensive one. Looks like I'll be investing in one of these now. Not a bad price either at £60.

 I had a pair of the fox but I found them to be fiddly and a bit tempremental so I gave them to Graham I sit there smiling while he swears

 One of my old mates used a rollover type device for Eel fishing it attaches to rear bankstick low down and acts like a swinger type indicator.Can be fiddly to set up but used in conjunction with a front alarm offers near zero resistance.With regards to 'Billies' they have rave reviews and when my Ps's finally give up some will be on order.

you wont be dissapointed steve,designed and made by a pike angler over many years,i got rid of fox back bite alarms too tempremental for me went back to  fox rear drop off indicator and standard front alarm but now going to get billys after seeing my mate use them

What used to hack me off about the Fox ones was the alarm constantly falling off the back rest! Bloody annoying! Had a look at the Billybackbiter website, very informative.Loved the history of how Steve got to make them too.  So yep, next week an order will be put in. Cheers chaps. :-))
