A good lump of luncheon meat and by a lump I mean up to half a can dependent on the size of fish youre after.

Large halibut pellets are another good one..

Then you can always go for a dead/lie bait where allowed

We use a whole chicken over here thats been left in the heat for a couple of days, it works very well for any cat's over 50lb. My pb was only last year on the river Adour (98lb) and that's small. Strong line, big, big hook and a short upside down sea rod They feel like a huge eel, thump, thump!!!
