method feeder hooklengths and other questions

Are the four inch preston innovation pre tied hooklengths designed specifically for a method feeder ?

I'm planning on using soaked pellets and fishing a banded pellet , do you think there is an advantage to using sweetcorn on the hook as a more obvious bait ?

If the pellets have absorbed a lot of water they seem to turn to groundbait type consistency is this what makes carp gill feed if its present in enough quantities ?

Cheers !

Of course the conclusion is that if there is no God head , no guiding hand , no mystical force , then we are all automata clinging to a rock , whizzing through space ,hurtling and clinging on to some God forsaken ride, chemical accidents , accidentally chemically aware , peeking at conciousness , trapped like rats in a rat trap.

Hi Benny

I can confirm that Preston Innovations do make pre tied hooks with a 4" hook length specifically for method feeders, although they also make pre tied hooks with different hook lengths.

As for your other questions, you will have to wait for a reply from someone who knows about using pellets.

Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.

------ End Quote ------tie em yourself benny you will get far more satisfaction from doing it that way you can make them 2 3 4 inch hair rigged or not as you please the truth is there is no better hooklength sometimes i prefer not to hair rig with corn or dead maggots i seem to get less foul hookers as for pellets soak them for a couple of minutes and mix them with g/bait i prefer green swimstim if you add some food colouring to your g/bait / pellets it will create a cloud in the water that will help to draw fish in hope this helps ddj

i wish i could be sensible but i cant help supporting sheffield wednesday up the owls

Re: method feeder hooklengths and other questions

thanks for the replies - tried the method today without a great deal of success but I think it was the conditions , tried using one of those mold things but it seemed easier to just mold it myself.

Used the in house pellets , after soaking them , but yes DeedaJohn I think I might mix in some Betaine aswell - in fact you can make a real cocktail.

I did get a lot of false bites , which I didn't strike at , but I couldn't tell whether they were real bites or fish oving the method feeder.

Possibly  fish attacking the feeder or even line bites from fish up in the water
