Blackrock Rods - anyone heard of used them

Hi was looking for a decent spinning rod and flattie/bass/estuery rod.  Was looking at shakespear tidmaster range or the XT range, but my longer angling shop said they were old tech comapred to the build quaility of blackrock rods.  Just want some advice is he right???

Cheers

Hi Damien.....I'm not sure but I reckon you would be better posting this in the sea banter section....I know this is the general message board....but it is usually viewed by coase anglers.

Hope that helps you mate.......

Jack

I have a Blackrock Geotrek Travel spinning rod 10/11' 5 section that's rated for 30-100 gr. I've used it for light beach / estury fishing with 2-3 oz weights, float fishing and spinning for the last couple of years. Seems to be well made and it's the rod that travels with me everywhere. Caught bass (4 lbs) Mackerel in threes on feathers, sea trout spinning & numerous flatties etc of the beach with it. Generally matchted up with a 4000 sized fixed spool. A great little rod.
