NEW BAIL OUT.

With our economy in tatters and the Euro falling apart is the move made by the chancellor to give banks 5 billion pound a month for the next several years a good thing?...we are in a right state but if we are trying to put ourself in a better position away from the euro should we not just leave the EU all together?...people say we need the Euro to be strong but what has it given us in the last year, nothing thats what and it is on the way out so we need to think is it worth staying in Europe,i don't think it is now,if we stop our hand outs to the EU then they will miss us more than we will miss them, keep our money here thats the only way in my opinion.

I make mistakes i am only human well half the time.

I think there are different issues here. Firstly, our chancellor wants the Bank of England to give UK banks money that can only be used for loans to UK businesses etc. This has nothing to do with Europe and is designed to stimulate our economy. This must be a good thing, the only question is how well it will work.

The second issue is the relative strength of the Euro vs the pound. If the Euro becomes very weak they cannot afford to buy our goods so any money we spend on stimulating our economy will probably be wasted as Europe is our main trading partner.

The third thing is we are not using our money to bail out Spain, that is all coming from the Euro zone, although as Spain will have to pay about 7% interest in might be worth lending them money.

Should we leave the EEC? There are a lot of reasons on both sides but, as I said before, they are our main trading partner. We can't become isolationist and support ourselves, the Commonwealth now only exists in name, and the Far East and USA are just not viable options. If we leave the EEC they might make it very difficult for us - so do we really have a choice?

Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.

Well we do have loads of American companies here already and all them "Americanisms" as well. Its almost like we have been annexed by the yanks anyway. And as for that "Special Relationship" between the Brits and the Yanks, what does that do for us? Nothing.

As for the original question, I dont think this money going to the banks will change a thing. Banks are being given money by the BofE at a low 5% interest and they are still offering loans to business' at around or over 20%, small business' cant afford to have loans like that.

I would agree that we need to get out of the EEC, it cost us Billions each year to be appart of it, with the payments to Brussels and everything that entails, to all the immigrants that come in the country and we cant do nothing about them except house them and give them benefits.

I cant see how it will work. The country is in a mess because people have been spending more money than they can afford to pay back in the first place. The only way our economy can recover properly is by cutting taxes and duty ( another name for tax) which will put the money back in peoples pockets to spend. Its the Government thats shafting us in more ways than one.

Good points guys, but i still feel we should pull out of the EU,it has drained us in more ways than one and now Germany are not doing much, our economy is not going to recover unless cuts in tax are made for sure and lending can begin again to get the markets moving, hard times.
