River Lea

I want to start fishing the lea but dont know where to start. Ive thought about joining a club for the fishers green stretch, I know its a very hard place to start but i would be up for the challenge! I know of the big chub and barbel, but are there any other specimen sized species? I live in romford, essex and dont mind a bit of a drive. Also looked at kings weir and dobbs weir, or are there any other good stretches in hertfordshire? Any info would be great.

thanks

RIVER LEA

Stick with fishers greenbut have a look at carthagena wier you canfish it on day ticket and there is no easy water on the lea you takes your pick and work at it . If live in Romford have a look at the roding again not easy but holds some good fish.
