you are perfectly correct in what you say,,,,,but i dont think the ladies had to qualify i think they are invited to participate,,,,having a baby doesn/t really come in to it,,,no one twisted her arm and made her attend did they  but you must be aware its a mans world along with darts.....all men are not morons by the way my wife is a top angler even today from a wheelchair she would still give most men a run for their money but having said that i do agree the ladies deserve better treatment and more prize money and welcome to the forum by the way

The women's prize money probabley reflects the amount of women that enter in relation to men. I would have nothing against women completing along side men for the same prize money and I don't understand why there has to be a men's and women's event.

Women can compete in the main event, Wendy Locker competed in the eary 00's I recall, It is just there are so few women in relation to the men that the chances of one making the final is very slim, but I agree the prize money difference is too big. I bet Sam felt sick pocketing a grand and seeing Warren get 30k.

As far as i know, Any Female angler (Over 18 i think) can join the Angling trust and enter one or more of the 16 qualifing matches. Should they win a qualifier, they would line up in the final and compete with the men for the £30k prize money.

The 16 qualifiers with anything from 150 to 300 pegs must generate some of the prize money. With the ladies not fishing any qualifiers, the prize money reflects this.

The current format for the Ladies match is by invitation of the top 6 int the ladies National championships.

i just wish i could enter next years but not having any transport and being unemployed its not going to happen im not a feminist in anyway just that i have spoken with some friends and they have all agreed that seeing that their were 16 men and some just 6 women it didnt look fair and it doesnt give the encouragment to other women to do better and to join the ranks of women whom fish and the coverage was poor too just a few seconds here and there but to the men the reporter was all over them why not give the women the same amoutn of coverage.

I would like to see it more balanced in future and I would love to see more women on the bank. I think it's great when I see husband and wife fishing together. I'm looking forward it taking my daughter fishing one day and I would love her to take it up if she wanted to.

Re: Fish-o-Mania

You also need to bear this in mind seeing as your unemployed at the moment. To enter EACH qualifier your probably looking at around £100 - £150 minimum for your Angling Trust membership, match ticket, travel , bait, pools and thats just to give you a chance. You then need to beat between 100-300 other anglers all after the First place ONLY in each match to qualify...

Enter 4 or 5 of these qualifiers and the bill soon mounts up....
