• RE: I have just bought telescopic pole for use on a lake to catch small carp under one pound. The pole does not have any elastic just a top eye. Do I need to fit elastic to it in some way to use it or can I just attach the line direct to the pole?

• RE: Reading Steve Ringer's advice on mixing paste in this week's Angling Times he said mix the night before for total absorbtion. My question is, does he use normal tap water? Some of the other advice given says it should never be used because of what's in it. I follow all his tips and they do work. Thanks!
