By Sea Angler

Fishing hasn’t been that good off the Essex coast recently, but Colchester angler Brian Grundy had a red-letter day when he fished aboard the Mersea-based boat Enterprise, skippered by Chris Mole.
Fishing near the wind farm off Clacton, the crew found the thornback ray feeding, with Brain taking the biggest at 13lb 8oz on a squid bait.
Four days earlier he fished from a friend’s boat near the Sealand Towers, close to Felixstowe, and bagged a 17lb specimen, which he winkled out from among a huge pack of dogfish.
Now his mates are calling him ‘Lucky Grundy’.
