Minehead’s Chrissy Waddle was pleased with the Rovex Duren uptide rod, which sells for £89.99
“I found the blank very responsive with loads of power, especially in the mid to bottom end range. The tip section remained fairly soft, though it gave me no problems with some fairly weighty fish.
“ The rod cast smoothly with no sign of ‘whipping’ often found in mid-price rods, which can be annoying at best and can sometimes lead to unnecessary birdsnests.”
Skipper Dave Roberts was pleasantly surprised with the performance of this rod, which is part of the Masterline Walker product range.
“I use uptiders a lot and this one didn’t let us down. The solid glass tip integrated into the fairly powerful blank offered plenty of power to handle virtually anything.
“The EVA grips made for comfortable handling, while the smart livery and tidy guides and whipping gave the rod an overall classy appearance,” he said.
