Fishing For Everyone founder Lucy Bowden has this week joined Hardy and Greys as a public relations coordinator.
The 20-year-old joins the world famous tackle manufacturer at the company's headquarters in Alnwick, Northumberland, which also happens to be her home town.
Lucy still owns her own business - fishing tackle-selling website www.fishingforeveryone.com that for years has helped to get newcomers, especially women, into the sport.
Lucy herself has been a keen angler for 15 years. She is a member of numerous clubs, has helped found a girls school fishing team, remains well known for her charity work and writes for the Tight Lines website and an Australian magazine called 'Reel Women'.
"While at school, I had a Saturday job in the Hardy shop and always hoped that one day I would work for Hardy and Greys. I was over the moon when I was approached and invited to join the company," said Lucy.
Lucy's job is to help raise awareness of the company's products but Hardy and Greys managing director Richard Sanderson is keen to make the most of her enthusiasim to encourage more women to take up fishing.
"We have enjoyed substantial growth over the past few years and, as part of maintaining the momentum, the most vital part of Lucy's new role is to keep people informed about all of our exciting new product developments," said Richard.
